"A Call to Arms:"The Story of the U.S. Army Reserve

"A Call to Arms" is the newest exhibit to line the walls at the USAHEC, and highlights the history of the U.S. Army Reserve, and the contributions and sacrifices of its Soldiers throughout the history of the United States. Photographs, artifacts, and large scale graphics take visitors on a journey from the use of militia units prior to the birth of the United States, through the role of the Army Reserve today, meeting the nation's requirements both home and abroad.

The history of the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) is the story of people who rise to the service of their country in times of crisis and return to their hometown following its conclusion. Today, Army Reserve Soldiers, including your neighbors, family, and friends, continue to train and prepare. The USAR provides the Army with both individuals and units critical to enabling and supporting the operational force. The men and women of the USAR can look to their historical predecessors as examples of the selfless service and sacrifice required for the security of the United States.
