Operating for Freedom: The U.S. Army in Afghanistan and Iraq explores the operational environments, dangers, and daily realities experienced by Soldiers during the wars from 2001-2021.

Moving beyond traditional displays of weapons and equipment, visitors are immersed in the environments Soldiers inhabited during more than two decades of conflict. By combining authentic materials, military vehicles, defensive structures, and immersive interpretation, the exhibit emphasizes both the operational demands of modern warfare and the human experience of deployment.
