Traditions Field

Since the earliest days of the military, the numbers of Soldiers required by the Army dictated the need for an open area for unit formations, training, close order drill, practice, ceremonial events and interaction. As time passed, the Parade Field became an essential part of any military installation, whether a permanent post or a temporary camp. It was used for formal occasions, inspections, parades, and official events, but it was also an area where Soldiers could gather in their off-duty time to play sports, and engage in social activities. In short, it became a centerpiece of Soldier life.

Traditions Field is a representation of those military Parade Fields, providing a large open space for ceremonies, drill, practice, demonstrations, sporting events, and entertainment. It continues that military tradition and honors all those Soldiers from our past and our present, who have answered the nation's call to duty.
